Our client is looking for an Operations Engineer for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen (Hybrid Working)

ROLE

  • Lead specific scopes within the shutdown team to prepare, validate, control and coordinate enabling activities, as well as shutdown execution and close out.
  • To provide engineering support and assurance services to assets to ensure safe and cost-effective production, across Operations, Facilities, Integrity & HSE functions.
  • Lead all aspects of onshore operations development and offshore execution of planned campaign maintenance scopes across the UK Operated and Non-Operated assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Critical Responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and HSES Procedures
  • Responsible for safe and efficient development and delivery of all operations aspects within planned maintenance shutdowns to achieve the required work scopes with minimum production impact and in line with all shutdown objectives.
  • Responsible for developing and delivering robust isolation philosophies which should be implemented successfully at each shutdown.
  • Key stakeholder for safe and efficient development and delivery of operations elements of the campaign maintenance plan.
  • Accountable for supporting implementation of associated continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Committed to the highest standards of HSE, in particular process safety, working continuously for improvement both in own activities and in those of the assets, projects or other business activities in which involved.   

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence: 

  • Support in closing out lessons learned from previous shutdowns and campaigns (starting with the most value adding and risk reducing actions).
  • Provide input and ownership of the risk register, identifying and closing out actions.
  • Coordination of onshore job owners and sponsors ensuring timely delivery on Shutdown/start-up plans, isolations, materials, permits, and engineering deliverables.
  • Mobilise offshore and / or arrange suitable offshore presence to represent the shutdown team during preparation and execution phases of the shutdowns.
  • Assist in development of shutdown preparation and execution plans in accordance with company processes and procedures and managing alignment with the relevant asset plan and production delivery plans.
  • Manage shutdown scope control to ensure safe and predictable delivery of agreed shutdown objectives.
  • Assist in identifying all foreseeable risks associated with execution plans and implement appropriate contingency measures.
  • Co-ordinate tasks with the other team members within the asset team to ensure safety, production and maintenance requirements are conducted in the appropriate manner.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across the UK organisation onshore and offshore and with vendor / contractor organisations to deliver results and ensure sufficient use of labour and expertise.
  • Ensure a member of the team mobilises offshore to supervise the safe and timely execution of the agreed maintenance outage plans or support smaller scopes from onshore.
  • Assist in the operations sphere for the development of maintenance campaigns, managing the overall work programme.
  • Ensure long-term campaign maintenance plans are built with scopes bundled together, aligning all maintenance and inspection associated with a given system, forecast, and aligned to the relevant asset plan and production delivery plans.
  • Assist the team in the development of work packs, schedules, permits, isolations, deck-plans and any other deliverables required to support safe execution of the work scope in accordance with the relevant company processes and procedures.
  • Assess any opportunities to reduce reliance on vendor personnel for tasks which could be undertaken by company and develop a knowledge-transfer plan to address any findings.
  • Track and manage cost associated with assigned work programmes, adhering to budget and forecast commitments.
  • Support knowledge-sharing within company and industry to improve campaign preparation and delivery.
  • Support development and maintenance of shutdown and campaign KPI’s.
  • Ensure you are in adherence with management of change process. 
  • Competent in operating electronic MMS.
  • Competent in operating electronic PTW system.

REQUIREMENTS

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experiences, etc:

  • Significant and relevant experience in operations coordination and management.
  • Offshore technical discipline experience, project management, maintenance management and planning exposure preferred.
  • Familiarity with project planning tools and concepts e.g. Primavera, critical path, logic, resourcing, progress reporting and re-baselining.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes, cost forecasting and tracking, handling of quotes, requisitions, POs, invoices and variations orders.
  • Knowledge of HSEQ, production, maintenance Management, asset and operating integrity processes and procedures.
  • Strong organisational and supervisory skills.
  • Working knowledge of knowledge of oil and gas practices and statutory requirements.
  • Experience in safe efficient cost reduction delivery.
  • Flexibility, quick to react and adapt to changes at short notice.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholder groups and participants in shutdown development and delivery.
  • Certificates to travel offshore.
  • Awareness of HSEQ Policies and Business Management System (BMS).
