Lead Well Performance Engineer

Our Client, an Operator based in Aberdeen, is looking for a Lead Well Performance Engineer on a long term contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

Well Performance coordination

  • Chair the Monthly Well Performance Group meetings and ensure full adherence to Terms of Reference
  • Attend Production Performance Group and present Well Performance subjects
  • Ensure Weekly Well Behavior Meetings are held
  • Keep regular contact with HQ Well Performance Teams

Well Performance Methods

  • Ensure application of proper methodology and good practices in the Team
  • Ensure availability of required Tools and Softwares

Budget

  • Establish the yearly Asset Well Performance Budget – recurrent RFS, specific studies and Tools/Softwares

Well Performance Studies

  • Agree on Methodology used for Study
  • Review Study results prior approval by PWP Manager
  • Ensure Studies delivery within customer acceptable Time Frame through a regular Workload Plan review
  • Ensure robust SOR prior any study delegation (HQ or External)
  • May realize himself/herself complex studies

Well and Network Modelling

  • Ensure Wells and Network Models are built & kept updated with latest well tests, PVT & reservoir data
  • Regularly detailed Models review with Well Performance Engineers to check/validate methodology and assumptions
  • Ensure that GAP/PROSPER models are used to proactively detect under performance and production bottlenecks and maintained in MC/IFM/IVM.

Well Test

  • Ensure robust Well test workflow – updated procedure and regularly check/audit the system
  • Report any concerns and propose a corrective action plan if needed
  • Ensure that Well Test Program performance is followed with proper KPI

Wells Potential

  • Ensure robust Well Potential Workflow - update procedure and regularly check/audit the system
  • Ensure Well Potentials are issued every time required and that variations are well understood/documented and that main gaps with expected declines are captured, commented and made visible
  • Make Unconstrained Potential visible for each well (CPOT as per CR EP EXP 100) on a Monthly basis

Well Productivity Follow-up

  • Ensure that Well Productivity evolution is made visible for all wells and that abnormal behaviour are identified and discussed in Well behaviour Meetings

Well interventions

  • Keep Intervention portfolio update with priorities and justification.
  • Ensure that Well Intervention Priority List is maintained up to date thanks to Monthly WPG
  • Ensure WIR/WSOR are progressed actively to allow Business Case elaboration and Decision
  • Ensure Well Intervention slots are secured in OPS/Corporate Planning
  • Assist PWP Manager for Well Intervention Budget
  • Ensure accurate & detailed Post Job Summaries are issued to allow Well Intervention KPIs consolidation

Well Performance Threats

  • Keep Well Performance Risk Register up to date and ensure good prioritization of associated studies/actions

Cross Asset Support

  • The Lead Well Performance Engineer will carry out all the above activities in their home Asset & aassist other Well Performance Engineers as required by Asset Production & Site Support Leaders giving work direction and technical guidance and / or reviewing technical studies.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering or Well engineering
  • Extensive experience in well operations / well performance role and experience in a reservoir engineering role
  • Demonstrate HSE commitment
  • Demonstrate ability to develop excellent relationships and a wide well related transverse network
  • Openness to change, ability to question and challenge current practices and initiate ideas that add value
  • Software Knowledge: PI, IPM, IFM, Olga, XEL, Well Test Database, Wellview, OFM, PDMS, Productivity Tool Box, IFM, IVM
