Technical Department Manager

Our Client, a major Oil & Gas operator who explores for and produces oil through operations worldwide are currently seeking an experienced Technical Department Manager on STAFF basis. Monthly rotational assignment 28/28, role will be based in North Africa.

This is also a key leadership role with high visibility and responsibility for engineering and technical assurance with over 40 staff from both Joint Venture (JV) partners. The scope of the role is wide with direct reports from Engineering, Inspection and integrity. The incumbent is expected to lead the plant to top quartile operating by proposing or delivering MOCs, ensuring those are safely and efficiently designed and delivered, and ensuring high standards of integrity management, of engineering quality and of safety. The incumbent should be knowledgeable and able to direct and advise his service managers in these trades in order to safely deliver on integrity, brownfield engineering and modifications.

Experience:

  • A significant breadth of onsite brownfield maintenance experience gained within the Oil and Gas sector at senior level.
  • Demonstrated competence as an Engineering Technical Authority and Execution Manager.
  • Experience of commissioning and/or performance improvement modification.
  • Experience of work in multicultural environment
  • Experience of work in remote location with limited supply/contractor availability
  • Experience working in a JV environment preferred, ability to deal with multicultural organization and manage skill gaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large team.
  • Proven contribution to safety and delivery.
  • Understanding and commitment to process safety and MOC.

Languages:

Role will be based in North Africa therefore the ability to work in French or Arabic is preferred.
