Senior Project Engineer

Our client is looking for a Senior Project Engineer for a permanent position, located in Aberdeen.
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the management of project modifications, M1 – M3 where there is increased complexity or multi-discipline input. The Senior Project Engineer may also be responsible for multiple Repair Order, R1-R4 scopes.
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that deliverables for scopes within their influence are delivered safely, within budget and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the key interface between the company and the client representative.
  • Ensuring that the Health and Safety is considered as part of ALL workscopes
  • Ensuring that any Quality issues are captured, and improvement measures are put in place.
  • Carry out scope categorisation review for ALL scopes alongside Engineering and record output.
  • Ensuring that all scope objectives are known, shared within the project team and understood.
  • Ensuring that scopes within the project are carried out to budget and any change is managed appropriately.
  • Owning and reviewing the contract plans to ensure that key milestones are met.
  • Ensuring that contract KPIs are met.
  • Chairing meetings internally and closely monitoring progress on scope deadlines.
  • Maintaining communications between all relevant stakeholders
  • Ensuring interfaces between the company and all internal and external stakeholders are managed
  • Providing regular updates to the client and company Senior Management.
  • Provide input to Contract / Project Reviews.
  • Reviewing and challenging outgoing cost estimates and ensuring the client receives value.
  • Ensuring all project risks are identified and managed
  • Ensuring that project purchase orders are received in an accurate and timely manner from the client and reviewed accordingly.
  • Ensuring that invoicing is carried out efficiently.
  • Carry out offshore management visits as and when required.
  • Provide mentoring and assistance to developing team members on the project
  • Ensure that scopes are closed out in accordance with client specific requirements.
  • Work in accordance with the Project Management and Delivery manual and all other functional procedures within the company BMS.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory

  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas/petrochemical industry
  • Ability to multi-task and work to agreed schedules
  • Must be able to communicate effectively – verbal and written English

Preferred

  • Degree qualified
  • Relevant Offshore Mandatory Requirements (Survival, Medical, MIST, EBS etc.)
  • Previous experience of managing brownfield modification project scopes.
