Senior ePTW Permit Controller

Our client, an Operator based in Aberdeenshire, is recruiting for a Senior ePTW Permit Controller on a 6 month contract basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all required Permit Vision V7 information is transferred to Permit Vision V8, raised correctly and ready for approval without error 
  • Provide support to Asset/HQ personnel, in the use of the Permit Vision V8 system 
  • Highlight any safety or production concerns to relevant parties to ensure effective follow up and resolution
  • Provide onshore support for sites – take queries and pass to project lead or HQ support as required. May at times be deployed to Operational sites during roll out. 
  • Manage & assist project Technical Assistant carrying out the following tasks
  • Perform User Acceptance testing on Permit Vision V8
  • Prepare Site master data (SAP & LO/LC data) for upload to PV Version 8 by HQ
  • Register users for each site – populate Permit Vision Site Admin with data from previous versions cleaning user database for V8
  • Copy V7 Long Term Isolation information/points from V7 to Permit Vision Global V8 and move LTI’s to ready to review/authorise by Area Authority Validation Level
  • Monitor Site Tracking of transfer of LTI from V7 to Permit Vision Global V8
  • Copy V7 Routine Template information to Permit Vision V8 creating new Routine Templates ready to review/authorise by site –reviewed and ready to be authorised to Superintendent/HSEA Level.
  • Create Ops Duty Template information in Permit Vision V8 - creating new Routine - reviewed and ready to be authorised to Superintendent/HSEA Level. This will be discussed and required templates identified by site.
  • Copy ORA/SARA information to Permit Vision V8 creating ORA’s/SARA’s - reviewed and ready to be authorised to Superintendent/HSEA Level.
  • Build & Review Permit Vision associated support documentation (Procedures/User Guides) for all sites moving from V7 to V8 and assist project lead roll out changes to key users.
  • Liaise with Asset/Site teams for support during roll out of Permit Vision V8 for each site
  • Liaise with Asset/Site teams for support post data migration from Permit Vision V7 to Permit Vision V8 for each site
  • Deputise and fill in for E permit lead when they are engaged on other critical HSE Dept tasks (support provided)
  • Assist HSE Dept with other tasks as required during Covid 19 pandemic.
  • Assist E Permit Project Lead on Safety Critical Tasks project – as required.

Legal Responsibility

  • Be conversant/comply with UK Legislation, Company Rules and Procedures & Instructions relevant to Control Of Work & Epermit Systems.

Safety & Environment

  • Ensure Permits/ICC’s/ORA/SARA/Operational Duties are created to the required standard in Permit Vision V8 for site to review and approve. Close liaison with Site Permit Control Authorities. Reviews to be completed to Superintendent/HSEA level.
  • Receive Site Queries on Operation of Permit Vision system – pass on to EPermit Lead and Escalate to HQ support mail if required.
  • Assist with HSE Dept safety initiatives/investigation providing support as required.

Planning & Coordination

  • Assist with the planning communication from project to Assets when E Permit Lead is engaged on other HSE Dept activities
  • Plan & Coordinate the activities for the project Technical Assistant and provide Quality Control Check on TA output – then perform updates as required ready for review by HSEA/Superintendent.
  • Assist HR Training/Asset Support as required with Permit Vision CBT roll out and update on Site Admin Users

Control of Work

  • Where required assist PJ with review of Procedures and Permit Vision guides.
  • Assist PJ team with Permit Vision application testing as required and submit fault/error reports to PJ/HQ
  • Personnel Development & Competency
  • Understand and apply group working approaches to achieve goals. Share knowledge and skills.

Communication

  • Provide asset and site operations teams with information, guidance and advice on permit vision related issues.
  • Maintain excellent communication flows and information links with PJ/HSE Dept/Asset and site teams.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised training (HNC, OPITO, SETT’s) in fluid and gas mechanics or oil & gas industry related discipline should be complemented by at least 10 years relevant experience in oil & gas industry/offshore operations. 
  • Good knowledge of Electronic Permit To Work Systems and Control Of Work Procedures and standards.  
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with personnel at all levels. Have leadership skills in order to direct, co-ordinate and organise work of technical assistant. 
  • Good logical problem solving skills. Ability to use sound rational judgement in decision making. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate safe working practices. Knowledge of Permit to Work System. 
  • Occasional offshore visits required - valid offshore certificates
