Reservoir Engineer

Our Client is looking for a Reservoir Engineer, on a contract basis (Maternity Cover), location in Aberdeen.
Allocated to an Asset Geosciences team and will actively contribute to HSE evaluation of operations; develop, recommend and implement reservoir management strategies to maximise the value of the Asset (i.e. production optimisation); identify, develop and promote opportunities for further development of the fields. The Post Holder may be called onsite to witness operations on an ad hoc basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reservoir Monitoring: review of reservoir production data in order to optimise field production and reserves. Proposes and prepares production enhancing and data acquisition operations as appropriate. Prepares Well Intervention Requests and WSOR. Documents and archives relevant analysis. Updates as required the Premonit.
  • Works in close collaboration with his / her G&G colleagues, completion engineers, well performance engineers, operations geologists.
  • Called offshore to witness relevant operations such as PLT’s, perforations, Cased hole Pulse Neutron logging, Well Testing, offshore PVT sampling and production chemistry on an ad hoc basis.
  • Supports the generation of production forecasts and reserves / resources evaluations using either decline curves or reservoir simulation techniques, under supervision of a Senior Reservoir Engineer or Team Leader.
  • Presents evaluations at Partner meetings and HQ peer reviews.
  • Involved in Prospect evaluations.
  • Apply Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy and Safety Management System
  • To identify and promote value adding opportunities (i.e. production and reserves increases)
  • Accountable for Reservoir Engineering data inputs in WSOR and Well Interventions requests. In particular for reservoir pressure evaluations and reservoir fluid properties.
  • Witnessing onsite operations on an ad hoc basis
  • Carrying out accurate reservoir modelling and synthesis for fields in association with Geophysicists, Geologists and other Reservoir Engineers. Archiving and documenting relevant reservoir engineering data.
