Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to Operations Management, the Operations Control function will work as part of their team and will primarily be responsible for customer service, dealing with customer enquiries directly via telephone, e-mail and resolving any issues that may arise.

  • Liaising with current and potential customers and vendors.
  • Liaising with technical staff and stores department.
  • Processing customer enquiries as required.
  • Providing accurate quotations for repair jobs.
  • Processing POs & associated records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Re-activation of jobs and spares orders on hold, after ‘go-ahead’ from customers.
  • Maintaining and updating repair system records.
  • Receiving, reporting, and ensuring effective action of customer complaints.
  • Attending internal and external training sessions required.
  • Perform any other specific duties as delegated, as necessary.

The Operations Control will also process all work scopes from enquiry to delivery within the company’s bespoke software system, on which training will be provided.

The prime responsibility of the Operations Control role is to ensure that customers are provided with excellent, first rate services that meets the high standards set by Instrumentation and exceeds the customers’ expectations.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar, customer-facing role. Excellent people skills and emotional intelligence are essential, as you will be working in a collaborative team environment.
  • You will be a conscientious individual with strong written and spoken communication skills, able to build rapport with your team and customers alike. A track record of conflict resolution and managing difficult conversations would be ideal, but more critical is the ability to manage customers’ expectations as you work collaboratively with them to resolve any issues.
  • Due to the record keeping responsibilities of the role, you will be accurate in your work with a keen eye for detail. Good computer and keyboard skills are absolutely essential, and you will ideally hold a relevant college, university or professional qualification.
  • A technical / instrumentation background would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Most importantly we are seeking a self-driven, disciplined individual with a positive attitude and flexible approach to working.
