Offshore Day Drilling Supervisor

Our client, an operator based in Aberdeen is recruiting for an Offshore Day Drilling Supervisor on a contract basis initially until December 2021.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with HSE standard. Work within the Well Engineering Management System (WEMS), Interface Document with Rig Contractor / 3rd Party, Drilling Programme, OGUK Guidelines, HSE Operating Guidelines, Oil Spill Response Plans
  • Oversee daily well drilling and completion activities to ensure the safe and efficient execution of the Campaign deliverables as per programme.
  • Develop and recommend revisions or enhancements to solve and troubleshoot drilling and completion challenges where required.
  • Use experience, expertise and well programme to generate work instructions for the rig crews.
  • Ensure all equipment, materials, services are in place for timely well execution
  • Provide accurate daily reporting of rig, third party and rig contactor activities
  • Oversee daily rig and service company meetings. Keep rig teams informed of well operations on a daily basis.
  • Oversee offshore equipment and materials management. Ensure the Master Equipment List is managed effectively at the well site.
  • Feed back into End of Well Report learning and any recommended changes for improvement.
  • Cooperate with the rig site personnel in performing the rig moving activities.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Valid IWCF Well Control Level 4 (Supervisor) certification.
  • Valid Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET).
  • Valid medical certification
  • Must have worked in a similar position in southern north sea environments, particularly Zechstein high pressure salts.
  • Must have worked in a role that involved platform development drilling and completion operations.
  • Must have worked in a role that involved working on Heavy Duty Jack-Up drilling rigs.
  • Can demonstrate successful completion of well campaigns as a SDSV through previous roles.
