Commercial Advisor

Our Client, an Operator, based in Aberdeen is looking for a Commerical Advisor on a 12 month contract basis.


Key Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that the client meets all Decommissioning Security Agreement (DSA) obligations for both Operated and Non-Operated Assets, and work with Treasury and LawDeb to ensure security is posted. Identify issues that could impact LC postings and assess the impact on the overall level of DSA posting (near term and 5 year forecast).
  • Represent the client at external JV meetings; represent the client at allocated Commercial Sub-Committees & OPCOMS, deputise for the Non-Op Asset Manager at OPCOM as necessary. Interface with JV partners and other stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure complete understanding and implications of commercial agreements being negotiated or executed and how they can be used to maximise value for the client. Key focus on DSAs, JOAs, TPOSAs, Offshore Gas Sales, Cost Carry Agreement.
  • Undertake investigations and analysis in support of resolution of issues / commercial negotiations. Lead commercial negotiations as opportunities arise e.g. negotiation of post-tax DSA
  • Undertake economic analysis on an ad-hoc basis to establish/support commercial proposals or positions. Ensure full understanding of impact on commercial position and advise/make recommendations accordingly
  • For assigned assets, deliver economics for the semi-annual CAD to Corporate requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide commercial support and guidance for various activities relating to the UKBU or other Corporate business as required. e,g, OGA Activity Survey

Education, Qualifications & Experience


  • Degree (or equivalent), with relevant experience.
