Asset Accountant

Our Client is looking for an Asset Accountant, on a permanent staff basis, location in Aberdeen.
The individual is the corner stone of the finance line for Exploration and UK JV Assets (predominately Non Operated); responsible for providing both internal and external stakeholders with relevant and timely business control and asset performance analysis and reporting. Key Responsibilities

  • Finance focal point for Exploration and decommissioning JV Assets
  • Perform a range of business, analysis including cost & revenues accounting and operations cost

controlling activities to report on JV Asset performance.

  • Work closely with the JV Budget holder(s) to provide financial analysis and support in respect of budgets, billings and reforecasts
  • Responsible for year to date and full year revised forecast, performed with budget holders on a monthly basis, considering latest Operator information
  • Responsible for all JV related financial tasks such as, but not limited to, financial presentations and attendance at JV committees, JV budget, JV Billings, regulatory reporting…etc
  • Focal point for the Finance and broader company community for all finance related questions for the JV Assets
  • Responsible for the validation of monthly JV billings to ensure accuracy
  • Participate in internal and external audits when required
  • Update and provide decommissioning cost estimates for all JVs as part of yearly update in collaboration with relevant departments (Drilling, P&E etc)
  • Responsible for actuals reporting and analysis in close collaboration with the Management Accounting Team
  • Build up strong relationship with Operator for Non Operated licenses, ensuring challenge to JV partners as appropriate
  • Undertake month end accruals for JV assets
  • Gather inputs and coordinate with other functions to prepare budget, forecast, Finance Bilateral and BoR submissions for the relevant assets; input and report the data in the appropriate tool
  • Periodically review cost allocation and charge-back mechanisms
  • Full Ownership of Asset Financials - Opex, Capex, Explo, Abex etc
  • Understanding of the financial requirements in JOA’s

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Accountancy qualification
  • Experience in a similar financial position in the E&P sector with a good understanding of E&P asset
  • performance
  • A solid grasp of all financial topics
  • Strong Finance systems skills – SAP, BPC and BBC.
  • An ability to analyze, summarize and stick to tight deadlines
  • Good communication skills
  • A comprehensive understanding of financial governance and FP&A processes
  • Ensure accuracy in completed month ends, forecasts and budgets.
  • Language: English required
